The start of systematically planed and prefabricated construction components changed the building industry in the 1970´s. A significant reduction of construction time and a massive economical rise of new constructed buildings were the result of the trend.

PEM has always been one of the first constructors developing and working with this new system since its founding in 1976.

In the early days one has recognized that the economical construction and the customer orientated solutions can be connected by the new computer technologies.

Projects were done all over the world, in the Far East, in Asia, Africa and the Eastern European Reform states.

The engagement in the international market led to a founding of an affiliate in 1989, which is located in the Bavarian Landshut. So the number of buildings carried out could be significantly extended in Germany.

With the political reforms in the neighbour countries subsidiaries were introduced in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic.

In the spring of 2003 PEM buildings became part of the steel-construction and mechanical-engineering company Zeman. As a result a modern and powerful company group with an unique format in the field of steel construction was created.
