Construction site update: Fischer
There is good news about our project with the sports equipment manufacturer Fischer in Mukachevo, Ukraine: the site inspection took place in mid-July – production can start.
After a major fire in October 2020, the Austrian family business Fischer Sports commissioned PEM Buildings to renovate and expand the production hall in Mukachevo (Ukraine) with a new building. Overall, the project covers an area of 21,500 m², where more than 600 tons of steel were used. In addition, the facility is now equipped with a membrane roof, panel walls, smoke aprons, and sprinkler systems. Due to the current events in Ukraine, construction work had to be temporarily halted. The team is all the more delighted that the project has now been successfully completed.
„The completion of the project was a matter of personal importance to me“, reports our assembly manager Michael Keplinger and continues: „I gladly accepted the risk of returning to Ukraine again so soon. This way, the production of alpine skis could resume as quickly as possible and the construction was successfully completed.“ Michael Keplinger, who was always on site and supervised the construction site, had to leave the country at the outbreak of the war. Through his efforts, he contributed to the successful completion on behalf of PEM and demonstrated exceptional commitment under challenging circumstances.
In the renovated and newly built hall, production can finally resume after the major fire two years ago. An important step in this difficult time for everyone.
