Delivery and installation of a segment hall

The Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) is currently creating the longest underground railway connection in the world. One of the largest construction sections of the BBT is construction lot H41 Sillschlucht-Pfons in Innsbruck. For this project area, PEM Buildings was commissioned by the ARGE BBT – Lot H41 – Sillschlucht-Pfons to construct segment halls. The approximately 5,500 m2 halls enable the production and storage of prefabricated reinforced concrete segments, known as segments. The new halls were completed in February 2023. The buildings consist of a gable roof covered with sandwich elements, and the wall cladding was also made of sandwich panels. The steel structure is based on a system from PEM Buildings. A total of 460 tons of steel were used for the halls.
