Employee portrait: Patrick Königsecker

At the age of 15, Königsecker laid the foundation for his construction career: he completed the 4-year construction technical school Linz at HTL 1 for Construction and Design and then attended the evening college for structural engineering. After a trainee program, Königsecker moved to Swietelsky as a technician before taking on the same position at PEM Buildings at the beginning of 2014. „At the beginning of 2014, I joined PEM as a technician, and by the end of 2014, at the age of just 24, I was already managing my first general contractor project,“, Königsecker reflects on his career.

Success story from the very beginning
The native of Linz especially remembers his first project as a GC site manager: „At that time, we built a new company location for BM-Automobile e.U. in Adagger. I was only 24 and a bit nervous about how the older colleagues in the industry would react to me. We managed the project well and I am still proud of that today.“  In the past six years, the GC department has experienced successful development: together with his team, Königsecker has already handled major construction sites such as the TVI project. „The turnkey construction for the new company headquarters of TVI, which is our largest contract in the company's history, was a big and complex challenge that caused me some sleepless nights. We overcame those confidently and handed over the headquarters to the customer's satisfaction on schedule“, Königsecker says happily.

Varied working day
As a general contractor site manager, Königsecker coordinates all appointments related to construction sites, calculates costs, and supervises all trades on site. Königsecker particularly appreciates the daily changing range of tasks: „The exciting thing about my job is that every day brings something different and I encounter new challenges with every project.“  The site manager spends between two and three days a week in the field – mostly in the Tyrol and Rosenheim area – and supervises construction sites under his management. „What I enjoy most about my work is communicating with the clients. The stories of how they built up their own companies always fascinate me,“, adds Königsecker.

Work'n'feel good
When asked why he works at PEM, Königsecker immediately has several reasons: „What I particularly like about PEM are the small structures. It's not a huge corporation and each employee can be treated individually. My relationship with my colleagues is also good. What I especially appreciate about the team – besides the strong cohesion – is that we can also talk about personal matters.“. Patrick Königsecker is also very committed outside of his profession: Since 2018, he has been a trainer and examiner at Wifi Linz and a lecturer for the construction technology vocational diploma exam..  In his private life, the passionate construction manager enjoys traveling and photography.
