Obituary: Peter M. Ehrenbrandtner

In memory of the founder of PEM
At the beginning of June, our esteemed company founder Peter M. Ehrenbrandtner passed away at the age of 82. In a moving ceremony, we said our goodbyes to him on June 15. Mr. Ehrenbrandtner began his career at Schöller Hallenbau and founded the company PEM-Bau in January 1976 with six employees. Despite setbacks and challenges, including political upheavals and natural disasters, he led the company to success with perseverance and exceptional sales talent. Throughout his life, a handshake and fairness in negotiations were his business principles.

Shortly after its founding, PEM secured significant major contracts in Iran and Iraq. This was followed by expansion into the German market as well as into the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. In 2003, Peter Ehrenbrandtner sold his company to the Vienna-based family business Zeman. He always remained connected to PEM and was interested in its further development.

Peter M. Ehrenbrandtner will be remembered as an outstanding entrepreneur with strong social networks, willingness to take risks, adherence to principles, courage, and determination to succeed. „We will honor the legacy of our ‚PEM‘ and lead the company into a successful future with the same passion and determination“, said Thomas Ennsberger, Managing Director of PEM Buildings. Our sympathy and condolences go to his family, who stood by him during the difficult years of his illness.
