Project presentation: Fuchsluger
In Aschbach, Lower Austria, an innovative biogas plant is being built by the company Fuchsluger, which specializes in the recycling of biogenic raw materials. PEM Buildings is responsible for the roofing, plumbing, and steel construction work and is installing the facade panels for the new hall. Due to the successful progress of the project, PEM has also been awarded the contract for the construction of the office building, including a heating plant and a humus station, which will begin construction in September.
Extensive construction work for a major project
The construction project covers a total area of one hectare. The biogas plant itself occupies around 9,000 m², while the office building and the heating plant cover about 1,000 m² and the humus station 725 m². A visual highlight is the specially designed facade of the production hall, which is designed in five different colors – matching the company logo.
Focus on sustainability and security of supply
With the planned commissioning in January 2025, the plant will produce around 15 GWh of biogas annually, which corresponds to the supply of about 1,200 households. By using regional organic waste and grass clippings, an environmentally friendly circular economy is supported. The plant will save around 5,200 tons of CO₂ per year in the future. In addition, a 2.5-megawatt photovoltaic system on the roof provides additional sustainability. The digestate produced during biogas production is processed into high-quality compost in rotting tunnels, which is refined on site into flower and garden soil.
With this project, PEM once again underlines its expertise in comprehensive construction projects and makes an important contribution to the implementation of future-oriented and environmentally friendly energy projects.
